Center for Effective Communication

Founded in 1974, the Center for Effective Communication is a training firm specializing in customized communication workshops and one-on-one coaching. Although the firm offers a wide range of communication training, its primary focus is business writing.

Our approach is successful for these reasons:

Our Writing Workshops

Through interactive instruction, we introduce participants to the writer's decisions. These decisions allow the participants to create and edit an effective piece of business writing.

We break down the writing process into three components:

1. Strategically thinking through the writing beforehand;
2. Rapidly creating an initial draft without anxiety;
3. Editing the initial draft to meet the standards for effective writing and to accomplish the writer’s purpose.
   

Participants experience this three-part process through in-class writing exercises, instructors' individual critiques, group critiques, and team activities.
